Whoa. Another person involved with the Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV is speaking out about the apparent dark side of the docuseries production!
The Amanda Show alum Raquel Lee Bolleau took to TikTok on Wednesday to slam the producers of the now widely-viewed Investigation Discovery series, which exposed the s**t that went on behind the scenes of the golden age of Nickelodeon. Seemingly referencing an Emmys FYC panel held in Los Angeles on Tuesday night that hosted stars including Drake Bell, Giovonnie Samuels, and Bryan Christopher Hearne, the actress complained:
“I’m done. I’m done! Last night, the Quiet on Set producers, or the team, had a huge discussion. Everybody was, I guess, gonna come together to talk about the documentary. Do you think they invited me? Do you think that they even thought about inviting me to this type of discussion?”
Oof.

She went on to explain that this was just one of many reasons she is sick of the industry — which she doesn’t think has changed a bit! Not even the Quiet on Set producers, according to her, are acting differently! She detailed:
“And let me tell you what my problem is with this industry. Quiet on Set, they did the thing that the industry always does. They get what they want from you and then they’re done. Never did they think that I would want to be at a discussion like that, or a part of a discussion like that. Like really? This has actually been a very difficult thing for me to face. This is what has happened in my career over and over again. This industry has done nothing but hurt me left and right from since I was a child. Okay? It is what it is. And I’m tired! I’m tired of the people in this industry. I don’t care for an audition. I don’t care to be on nobody’s set. I don’t care for nobody to recognize me for the work that I’ve done.”
Just like Double Dare host Marc Summers, the 37-year-old then claimed that documentary producers lied to her about the kind of series they were making! She dished:
“Quiet on Set. First of all, you don’t even tell me what type of documentary that I’m going to be a part of. You never question whether or not this is gonna be triggering for me.”
Not cool! With the severity of all the former child star’s claims, the producers should’ve handled this with the utmost care! Unfortunately, that reportedly wasn’t Raquel’s experience.
After she appeared in two of the first four episodes, the producers decided to release an additional episode following the success of the premiere. But they hardly gave her a heads up that she’d be included in it — calling her “the day that the fifth episode is about to come out.” In that episode, she opened up about being “infuriated” when Amanda Bynes “spit” in her face during a sketch, which others remarked was “racist.” But it wasn’t just the fact that she got short notice about the additional ep! The Proud Family alum was pissed that she wasn’t included in the panel discussion either! She added:
“You want me to share my story, but you don’t want to involve me in the actual narrative of change. No! I can’t do it anymore. I’ve given it all I can. I don’t have nothing else. The show, I don’t want to talk about it.”
Dang! This really rubbed her the wrong way! See her heated rant (below):
@raquelleebolleau I really have nothing left for this industry ???? it’s all the same… #quietonset #quietonsetthedarksideofkidstv #childactors #raquellee #fypツ
The producers have yet to address any of her complaints. If you want to give them the benefit of the doubt, her exclusion from the panel might not’ve been intentional. They likely only had space for a few stars. But, still, it SUCKS that after being brave enough to speak out, Raquel was left feeling manipulated and exploited! And it’s shocking that she’s not even the only one who felt this way! The filmmakers should’ve done better about interviews and being up-front about doc narratives and all the rest — especially since they claim they actually want to make a change! Reactions?? Sound OFF (below)!
