Manchester United hold strong interest in PSG forward Randal Kolo Muani – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are preparing a “powerful” offer to sign Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, as per Fichajes.

United spent a significant part of their summer chasing Manuel Ugarte, as PSG showed reluctance to part ways with the Uruguayan midfielder for cheap.

Ugarte was not considered a key part of Luis Enrique’s plans in the French capital, and yet the Ligue 1 giants tried to recoup all of the €60 million they paid Sporting Lisbon in the summer of 2023.

In the same summer, they also spent big on Kolo Muani, and now it is being suggested United might yet again come to their rescue by taking another underwhelming signing off their hands.

Kolo Muani, who scored 23 goals and registered 17 assists for Eintracht Frankfurt during the 2022/23 campaign, has struggled to live up to the expectations at PSG, managing just 18 goal contributions in all competitions last season after his big-money move.

According to Fichajes, United have shown a “strong interest” in signing him amid his uncertain situation at the French club.

The Red Devils have reportedly been “keeping a close eye on” the 25-year-old versatile forward and are understood to be “willing to make an offer of around 70 million euros” to secure his signature.

United have struggled going forward this term, and only Southampton have scored fewer goals than them, seven games into the new Premier League season.

It is claimed the Mancunian outfit need attacking reinforcements and consider Kolo Muani as an “attractive option” to strengthen their frontline despite his inconsistent performances in Paris.

PSG are believed to be keen on recouping part of their investment and would not be against parting ways with Kolo Muani.

United have already spent significant transfer fees on Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the last two summer transfer windows. Both strikers are highly rated and have shown glimpses of their brilliance. Still, at this stage of their career, they are far from prolific.

As such, it remains to be seen if United would decide to spend big on yet another forward who is not considered a guaranteed goal-scorer.
