INDW vs NZW: Here’s why Amelia Kerr not playing today’s match | 2nd ODI

In a setback for New Zealand Women, star all-rounder Amelia Kerr is missing from today’s lineup in the second ODI against India Women, taking place at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The absence of Kerr, a key player for New Zealand in both the batting and bowling departments, has come as a big blow for the White Ferns supporters.

Why Amelia Kerry is not playing the 2nd ODI against India?

Amelia’s absence has left a considerable void in the New Zealand squad. Known for her ability to make crucial contributions with both bat and ball, Kerr played a crucial role in the first ODI with her accurate leg-spin and resilient batting. Without Kerr, New Zealand’s bowling attack is significantly weakened, and the team’s middle order may also face challenges.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, Amelia has been ruled out of the remaining ODI series against India after tearing her left quadricep muscle. She suffered an injury during the opening game on Thursday, October 24. Amelia has now been sidelined for about three weeks and will miss the ongoing season of Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) as well.
