Aston Villa “have submitted an offer” for Manchester United youngster Harry Amass – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Aston Villa have reportedly lodged a bid for academy star Harry Amass.

A few days ago, it emerged that Villa were keen on a shock swoop for Amass, who has yet to make his senior debut for United.

It was subsequently claimed that the Red Devils would snub any overtures from Villa for the highly-rated Amass, who has been tipped for a big future at Old Trafford.

United have no interest in parting ways with Amass, especially after the arrival of new head coach Ruben Amorim, who favours a 3-4-3 system.

In this football style, there is a real chance for Amass to break into the team in a left-wing-back role.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Amass has “sparked the interest” of Unai Emery’s side, who have “submitted an offer” to secure his services.

“Under the direction of Unai Emery, they [Villa] are looking to consolidate a team that not only competes in the present but also ensures a promising future. For this young promise [Amass], a change of scenery could represent a unique opportunity for growth and greater prominence.”

“Aston Villa will have to act quickly and decisively as the competition for the young Englishman is tough. Unai Emery’s side are reportedly willing to pay 15 million for the 17-year-old.”

Fichajes explain that United will “offer an attractive development” plan in an effort to convince Amass to snub interest from Villa in favour of staying put.

Amass joined United from Watford last year and has made 17 appearances for the U18s. He also played nine times for the U23s in Premier League 2.

The teenager was included in the United squad for the club’s pre-season tour in the United States. The defender has been on the bench for two of United’s last three top-flight fixtures.

The youngster’s contract runs until June 2027.
