Ruben Amorim “expected” to fast-track Chido Obi-Martin after talks with Jason Wilcox and Darren Fletcher – Man United News And Transfer News

New Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly poised to fast-track the development of brilliant academy starlet Chido Obi-Martin.

Amorim arrived at United last week to officially take over as club boss following Erik ten Hag’s sacking last month.

In his first sit-down with United media, Amorim spoke about the youth and promised that they will be given a chance to shine under him.

In fact, Amorim suggested that he may look to immediately thrust some of them into the action if they’re ready, as opposed to slowly easing them into his senior set-up.

At the moment, very few United academy players if any, are grabbing headlines as much as Obi-Martin.

United signed the 16-year-old in the summer from Premier League rivals Arsenal. He scored a mind-boggling 32 goals in just 18 games with the Gunners U18s before departing for Old Trafford.

It’s believed that the Red Devils warded off significant competition both from England and abroad to land Obi-Martin.

He has already plundered four goals in four matches for United, including a sensational hat-trick against Nottingham Forest in his debut start for the club.

According to GIVEMESPORT, Amorim has a plan in place for Obi-Martin after holding talks with three club chiefs.

“Ruben Amorim is expected to fast-track the development of Chido Obi-Martin after being given rave reviews of the 16-year-old striker by Manchester United youth coaches.”

“Technical director Jason Wilcox, academy head Nick Cox and coach Darren Fletcher are all believed to have spoken with Amorim about Obi-Martin.”

“And they plan to integrate the teenager into some Under-21 games as well as some first-team training sessions to prepare him for the senior team.”

Obi-Martin was recently called up to Denmark’s U18s group and found the back of the net in a 2-1 loss against Finland on Friday.
