New Manchester United contract for Amad Diallo a “no-brainer” as former players compare him to Bukayo Saka – Man United News And Transfer News

The noise around Manchester United forward Amad Diallo is deafening in his native Ivory Coast, where former players are clamouring for United’s own “Bukayo Saka” to be given a new contract.

Amad has scored three goals and assisted twice in his best season so far with the Red Devils, where he has looked sharp almost every time he has been on the pitch.

The 22-year-old’s contract expires in 2025 with the option for another year, and 79-time Ivory Coast international Emmanuel Eboué sees a new deal for the youngster as “a no-brainer”.

Speaking to AfricaFoot, Eboué said: “I think it’s a no-brainer that Man United give him a new contract.

“Every time he’s been given a chance, he’s always shown his goal. I think it’ll be even better with Ruben Amorim.”

Fellow Les Éléphants alumnus Seydou Doumbia also raved about the possibilities for Amad under the new manager.

“I love the way he receives the ball, his calmness, his awareness of his surroundings and of course the big goals and chances he creates,” he said.

“He can be the Bukayo Saka to Ruben Amorim. He is a nightmare for defenders with the ball at his feet.”

The former AS Roma and Newcastle United striker continued his wild praise for his young countryman, claiming “I think he will be one of the best players in Manchester United’s history, if they give him the chance.”

Chances have been strangely hard to come by for Amad, who was crowned Manchester United’s player of the month for August, before immediately being benched by Erik ten Hag.

But perseverance paid off, and his inclusion in starting lineups is no longer a surprise.

The player’s development under Amorim will be fascinating, as he has shown immense attacking threat across the frontline but also glimpses of steel when tracking back.

Eboué, who spent seven years at Arsenal, said: “It’s so good to see a player from my home country stepping up and deciding games for a club of Manchester United’s stature.”

Amad did just that against PAOK in the Europa League, scoring both goals in a 2-0 triumph at Old Trafford including a phenomenal second where he won the ball back and curled one in from outside the box.
