Bruno Fernandes nominated for November’s Premier League Player of the Month – Man United News And Transfer News

November was a busy month for Manchester United with new head coach Ruben Amorim taking charge following Erik ten Hag’s sacking.

United navigated the month without defeat and produced some decent displays with their captain playing a key role in the team steadying the ship after Ten Hag’s exit.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice and managed one assist in the Premier League last month, leading to him being nominated for the league’s Player of the Month award.

The skipper scored United’s first goal of November via the penalty spot in the 1-1 home draw against Chelsea in a match overseen by then-interim boss Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Fernandes’ best showing came in the comfortable 3-0 win against Leicester City at Old Trafford where a vintage display helped the Red Devils down the Foxes in Ruud’s final game in charge.

A splendid strike from the edge of the box put United ahead on the day before his ball to Alejandro Garnacho set the Argentine free for a super third goal to round off a fine afternoon.

Fernandes also featured in Amorim’s debut game, a frustrating 1-1 draw with Ipswich where he played a role in United’s opener just 80 seconds into the match.

Furthermore, Fernandes created 14 chances across his three games – the highest number registered by any player in the league in November.

United’s new head coach will no doubt rely on Fernandes to produce more moments of magic moving forward with the Portugal international the team’s best player since joining from Sporting Lisbon almost five years ago.

Incredibly, Bruno won the award a record breaking four times in the calendar year of 2020 but is yet to add a fifth to his individual cabinet.

However, he will have to fend off stiff competition if he is to secure the honour this month with seven Premier League stars vying for the prize.

Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch will be among the favourites, with Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard and teammate Bukayo Saka also on the shortlist.

Wolves’ Matheus Cunha, Brighton forward Joao Pedro and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa make up the nominees.
