Liverpool could yet get involved in deal for Man United target Alphonso Davies – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United face a huge threat for left back target Alphonso Davies from Liverpool.

The Red Devils are in desperate need of a left wingback to complete their 3-4-3 formation.

Diogo Dalot has tried his best but clearly cannot play consistently well in the wingback system, especially on his weaker side.

Persistent injury problems for Luke Shaw have also seemingly put paid to his long-term future at the club. Tyrell Malacia, who has recently recovered from a long-term injury, has failed to impress and has been linked with an exit.

For that reason, United have expressed interest in numerous left-side defenders with Nuno Mendes and Theo Hernandez linked with a move to Old Trafford recently.

One other superstar who is said to be of interest to United is Alphonso Davies, with the Canadian yet to agree a new deal with Bayern Munich and would be an attractive free agent option in the summer.

There have been conflicting reports that he would be keen to leave Bayern but others have stated he is close to staying at the Bavarian side and is lukewarm on a move to Old Trafford.

Real Madrid are also interested in Davies but United may need to see off competition from a side substantially closer to home.

Journalist Christian Falk, writing for CaughtOffside reports, “Liverpool could yet officially join the race, if they so wish” for Davies.

“He’s not 100% fixed on Manchester United or Real Madrid. I heard that talks with Bayern, at the moment, are on ice until January.”

“His agent, Nick Huoseh, will talk with any interested top club in the new year. When Huoseh is on his tour of England, Liverpool could get a meeting with him.”

CaughtOffside also claim that the Anfield side could be a good fit for the Bayern star, so they “naturally have a chance” to land him.

The outlet do admit that United and Madrid are certainly “more concrete” options at this time but neither club should take the threat of Liverpool lightly.
