The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally confirmed the schedule for the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.
No Overseas Matches: IPL Stays Home
Cricket fans can rejoice as all 74 matches will be played within India. This decision comes after the BCCI prioritized domestic venues for the entire tournament.
High-Voltage Playoffs in Ahmedabad and Chennai
The business end of the IPL will take centre stage in two iconic cricket stadiums – Ahmedabad and Chennai. The high-stakes Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21 and 22, respectively. The prestigious Qualifier 2 and the grand finale will be played at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 24 and 26.

IPL 2024 resumes on April 8
The second-leg of IPL 2024 begins on April 8, featuring the defending champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), in a night game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Chepauk Stadium.
Spotlight on the Dharamsala and Guwahati matches
Cricket enthusiasts in Dharamsala and Guwahati will be treated to some exciting matches. Punjab Kings (PBKS) will play two of their home games at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala – against CSK (May 5) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (May 9). Similarly, Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host their matches against PBKS (May 15) and KKR (May 19th) at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Playoff Picture Takes Shape
The league stage concludes on May 19 with the clash between RR and KKR. After a one-day break, the high-octane playoffs will commence on May 21, marking the culmination of the 2024 IPL season.
