Manchester United’s 1998/99 season remains the most iconic year in the club’s rich and illustrious history.
Sir Alex Ferguson led his team to Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League titles in an unforgettable 10 day period after a dramatic, history-making campaign.
United became the first English side to complete the Treble and done so with a raft of academy players in the ranks. Now, those players, along with their teammates will tell the story of the incredible season in a documentary produced by Amazon.
99 is the apt title for the documentary that will air May 17, with the official trailer released this week on X, as displayed below.

Famous faces such as David Beckham, Dwight Yorke, Teddy Sheringham and Peter Schmeichel feature in the trailer which serves as the perfect starter for the main event in May.
The aforementioned players all played a key role in throughout the season with Schmeichel lifting the Champions League trophy on the famous night in Barcelona.
Beckham has recently had his own docuseries released on the platform and the same makers are behind the 99 story.
The trailer is centred around the exhilarating crescendo to the campaign which culminated in United scoring twice in stoppage time to win the European Cup, destroying German giants Bayern Munich on the night.
United fans will no doubt be delighted to rekindle old memories – memories that are getting more and more distant with each passing year, given the current situation at Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag is the latest man charged with restoring the club to its former glories, but is struggling to find the correct formula, much like his predecessors, since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
However, United are now entering a new dawn with INEOS gaining control of the sporting structure at the Theatre of Dreams, headed by lifelong United fan, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Ratcliffe was present in Barcelona as United made footballing history and a trip down memory lane will certainly light the fire for better days to come under the new regime.
