Antony’s potential move to AC Milan depends on what happens with Samu Chukwueze – Man United News And Transfer News

Struggling Manchester United winger Antony could seal a transfer to AC Milan but this almost entirely depends on whether or not the Serie A giants can offload Samu Chukwueze.

To say Antony has struggled since joining the club in the summer of 2022 would be a massive understatement.

United forked out a hefty £86m to secure his services from Ajax but the player has so far been unable to replicate the form that earned him his move to Old Trafford.

The Brazilian has managed a return of just 12 goals and five assists in 86 appearances for the Red Devils.

All season, Antony has started just one match, in the Carabao Cup against League One outfit Barnsley. He scored a penalty on this occasion.

The 24-year-old replaced Marcus Rashford in the 73rd minute against Fenerbahce on Thursday night but didn’t last long on the pitch as he picked up an injury just 10 minutes later.

He was spotted leaving the stadium on crutches and an update on the severity of the issue is expected soon.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are ready to cut their losses and part ways with Antony. It’s thought that the 20-time English champions are willing to sanction a January exit.

The Daily Mail revealed that United want £40m to let Antony go.

CaughtOffside now divulges that AC Milan is a possible destination for the former Ajax man.

“Sources have advanced to CaughtOffside that many top European clubs have shown a concrete interest in Antony, in particular the Serie A giants Juventus and AC Milan.”

“Both have apparently been continuously monitoring his situation of late, and the Rossoneri look likely to be favourites in any deal, loan or otherwise, if it comes down to a straight fight between themselves and the Bianconeri.”

“That’s because sources have also told CaughtOffside that Milan’s 25-year-old Nigerian winger, Samu Chukwueze, is being courted by the likes of Fulham, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aston Villa and West Ham United.”

If Chukwueze bids farewell to Milan in favour of signing for a Premier League club, then the chances of Antony moving to the San Siro significantly improve.

Aston Villa are seen as the favourites to sign Chukwueze, largely due to his previous experience working with Unai Emery at Villarreal. CaughtOffside states that if this happens, then Milan will “definitely swoop” for Antony.
