Bayern Munich are reportedly putting pressure on Alphonso Davies to sign a new deal before he meets with Manchester United in January.
The left-back position is believed to be an area of the pitch United are eager to strengthen either in the winter transfer window or in the summer.
Davies – who is set to be a free agent in June – has emerged as one of United’s top targets.
Other stars thought to be on the Red Devils’ radar include Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth), Antonee Robinson (Fulham), Alvaro Fernandez Carerras (Benfica) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan).
Bayern remain in talks with Davies to try and reach an agreement over a new deal but it’s understood there are tensions between the Bundesliga giants and the player’s camp.
Last week, a report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that amidst the ongoing uncertainty over Davies’ future at Bavaria, United asked for a January sit-down with the defender and his agent, presumably to try and convince him to seal a blockbuster switch to Old Trafford.
BILD journalist Christian Falk now reveals that Bayern are pushing Davies to commit his future to them before he has the opportunity to meet with interested parties like United and Real Madrid.
Falk wrote on X, “FC Bayern is putting pressure on Alphonso Davies (24) to sign a new contract before Christmas.”
“The club would like a decision before Davies has the opportunity to meet with Manchester United and Real Madrid in January.”
“Davies’ side is still hesitating and is considering continuing negotiations in the new year.”
