Bayern Munich trying to agree new deal with Man United target Leroy Sane, but remain open to January offers – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have now scored eight goals in the last three games since Ruben Amorim took charge but the futures of several stars remain up in the air.

Joshua Zirkzee’s brace on Sunday means he has three goals to his name but links with Juventus persist and a clearer picture regarding the Dutchman’s future will emerge after his agent meets with the club around Christmas.

Marcus Rashford is another player who has been linked with an exit with long-term suitors Paris Saint-Germain in touch with his camp.

With Antony also likely to leave, another goalscoring outlet could well be targeted with Leroy Sane‘s name popping up recently owing to his contract situation.

Sane links remerge

The Bayern Munich star is not playing as much as he would like and with his current deal ending in 2025, plenty of suitors have emerged, including United.

The only catch, the player himself is focussed on Bayern at the moment and has no interest in jumping ship midway through the season.

Interestingly, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has claimed that the Bavarian giants are trying to agree a brand-new deal with the German, but on reduced terms, something the 28-year-old might not agree to.

And if they cannot find an agreement, they are open to bids in January for the former Manchester City star. With foreign clubs able to agree a pre-contract agreement for the soon-to-be free agent, lucrative bids are unlikely.

“In recent days, new talks have taken place regarding a contract extension for Leroy Sané,” the journalist wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Max Eberl is fundamentally open to extending Sané’s contract beyond 2025. However, there is still a long way to go. Bayern want to reduce Sané’s fixed salary while increasing performance-based bonuses. A final decision is not expected before March 2025.

New contract talks

“Despite the talks about a new contract Bayern would consider top offers for Sané in the winter, but he is 100% committed to staying and has no plans to leave. He remains fully dedicated to Bayern at this time.”

He earns a mammoth €384,615 per week including bonuses, something the 20-time English champions might not pay now that INEOS are in charge.

And if the club are forced to wait until next summer, an out-and-out striker is far more likely with Viktor Gyokeres the club’s top priority.

Also, the five-time league winner’s recent injury record and form do not exactly inspire confidence. United are better served looking elsewhere unless Amorim demands his signing.
