Diogo Dalot impresses despite Manchester United’s humiliating 3-2 loss vs. Nottingham Forest – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United suffered a second consecutive defeat, as they slipped to a 3-2 loss at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Goals from Nikola Milenkovic, Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood were all Forest needed to clinch all three points and pile further misery on Ruben Amorim and his players.

Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes grabbed United’s goals.

The Red Devils managed a 72% share of the ball in comparison to Forest’s 28% possession.

Amorim’s men had a total of 17 cracks at goal, with seven of these being on target. In comparison, the visitors fired 11 shots at Andre Onana, three of which required the Cameroonian to swing into action.

United put together 592 passes with a pass accuracy of 88%. Forest strung 236 passes with a completion rate of 64%.

One of the very few United stars who turned up in the meeting with Forest was Diogo Dalot, who was once again deployed in the left-wing-back role.

During the time he was on the pitch, Dalot touched the ball on 75 occasions and successfully found his teammates with 38 of the 45 passes he attempted, managing an individual pass accuracy of 84%. One of his passes was a key pass.

One aspect of his game that Dalot needs to work on is his crossing. He delivered nine crosses, failing to connect even once.

He fired three shots, two of which were on-target while the other was off-target.

The Portugal international embarked on two dribbles, completing both of them. He delved into nine ground duels and came out on top six times.

Dalot made two interceptions and twice as many tackles.

The 25-year-old is certainly one of the few United players who can hold their heads high up after a woeful team performance against Forest.
