Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is Newcastle United’s target – Man United News And Transfer News

Paul Pogba could return to the Premier League, with two English clubs eyeing a move for the former Manchester United superstar, as per Fichajes.

The World Cup-winning midfielder has left Juventus after mutually agreeing to terminate his contract. He joined the Old Lady on a free transfer for the second time after leaving United in the summer of 2022.

His second spell in Turin was nothing short of a nightmare, as he initially spent much of his time on the sidelines due to injury issues. Later, he was handed a four-year doping ban. However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced his punishment to 18 months.

The 31-year-old will be free to play from early 2025 and is accordingly in search of a new club.

Amid this, reports emerged that Pogba is set to train at United’s Carrington training complex to regain his fitness. This sent the United faithful into a frenzy, with some fans hoping to see the dynamic midfielder join Ruben Amorim’s project.

However, earlier today, Fabrizio Romano quashed such suggestions by reporting that Pogba is not planning to train at any club, as he is working in Miami and there has been “no contacts with United.”

A United return seems like a far-fetched idea at this point, but the Frenchman could still get an opportunity to show his talents in the Premier League once again.

According to Fichajes, Pogba is the “main target” of Newcastle United and West Ham United, as his suitors still consider him a player of “great class and quality.”

Both Newcastle and West Ham are willing to take a risk and sign him as a free agent as they are confident he is capable of becoming a key part of their respective projects.

The Magpies are hoping to return to European football, while the Hammers’s current aim is to avoid relegation.

Question marks remain over his fitness, but Pogba, known for his passing range and dribbling ability in the middle of the park, has the skill sets to greatly improve midfield of both clubs.

As far as United’s midfield plans are concerned, their first priority seems to be offloading Casemiro.
