Harry Amass “at risk of being completely frozen out of the first-team” amid Ruben Amorim’s transfer plans – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is reportedly in danger of falling further down the pecking order, with head coach Ruben Amorim intent on dipping into the market for a new left-back.

Amass joined United from Watford last year but is yet to make his senior debut for the club, despite being part of the pre-season tour.

Erik ten Hag spoke glowingly of Amass and it appeared that it was only a matter of time until the youngster made the step-up to the senior team.

The 17-year-old, who has often drawn comparisons to Luke Shaw due to their similar playing style, is believed to be on the radar of a host of Championship clubs that are keen on taking him on loan during the January transfer window.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are also admirers of Amass.

According to GIVEMESPORT, the chances of Amass breaking into the United first-team are not looking too good at the moment due to Amorim’s desire to secure the services of a left-back, who will slot into his preferred 3-4-3 system.

United continue to be linked to the likes of Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth), Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich), Antonee Robinson (Fulham), Rayan Ait-Nouri (Wolves), Alvaro Fernandez (Benfica) and Theo Hernandez (AC Milan).

“Manchester United starlet Harry Amass is in serious danger of being pushed further down the pecking order at Old Trafford as head coach Ruben Amorim has set his sights on diving into the transfer market for a fresh left-back option instead of giving the teenager the opportunity to stake a claim for regular action, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.”

“Amass is at risk of being completely frozen out of the first-team picture and having an uphill battle to break into Manchester United’s short-term plans, according to GMS sources, as Amorim is prioritising the addition of a new left-sided full-back ahead of being able to make his first signing since arriving at Old Trafford.”

It’s understood that Amass was hoping to profit from Shaw’s injury troubles but this has yet to happen.

GMS note that United’s coaching staff insist that Amass needs more time to develop before truly making the jump to Amorim’s set-up

Amorim continues to keep an eye on the teenager and there is still a chance that the United head coach will give him a chance to prove himself.
