Louis Saha backs Paul Pogba for a potential Manchester United return – Man United News And Transfer News

Louis Saha, a former Manchester United striker, has expressed his desire to see Paul Pogba return to Old Trafford after the midfielder’s doping ban was reduced.

Pogba, likely to part ways with Juventus, will be eligible to return to action by March 2025.

The possibility of a third spell with United is gaining attention as Juventus appears set to terminate his contract.

The World Cup-winning midfielder recently received a reduced suspension for doping after successfully appealing to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Initially handed a four-year ban, the suspension has now been cut to 18 months.

Although Pogba is keen to return to professional football, it is unlikely that he will do so with Juventus, which has been expected to terminate his contract since the ban was announced.

Saha, who represented both Man United and France alongside Pogba, spoke in an interview with Paddy Power, revealing his hope to see Pogba back in the Premier League with United.

“Paul Pogba can go wherever he wants,” Saha said, emphasising Pogba’s potential to make a significant impact if provided with the right platform to showcase his abilities.

According to Saha, Pogba’s potential return to United could be mutually beneficial, mainly since the recent loss of Scott McTominay has caused midfield turnover at the club.

Saha further commented on the issues Pogba and others have encountered at United in recent years, acknowledging challenges with former management and the club’s transitions.

“Letting Pogba go was a sign of difficulty in managing Manchester United’s transition,” he explained, highlighting that similar obstacles have been faced by stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford.

Ruben Amorim, the Portuguese manager set to take over as United’s head coach on November 11, will play a key role in deciding the roster’s future direction, including whether or not Pogba fits into his vision for the team.

Transfer rumours have already mentioned Pogba’s name, linking him to leagues in the United States and Saudi Arabia.

The MLS and the Saudi Pro League have increasingly become destinations for top European players seeking new opportunities. Each league has shown interest in securing Pogba’s signature.

However, Saha’s endorsement could spark renewed discussions about a Premier League return, allowing Pogba to maintain a higher level of competitive play as he looks to represent France internationally again.
