Manchester United set to agree new deal with in-form Amad Diallo within December – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United tried to maintain control instead of going on the attack against Arsenal and were ultimately made to pay as the Gunners scored twice from corners in the second-half to seal victory.

This was Ruben Amorim’s first taste of defeat since taking charge and looking back, the Gunners were not that good on the day from open play and he could have opted to have begun with a bang instead of a more conservative approach.

The ploy to start with Mason Mount did not work with Amad Diallo’s appearance in the second-half leading to the game’s best chance for the visitors falling to Matthijs de Ligt.

The Ivorian attacked the defensively-suspect Oleksandr Zinchenko and immediately won a dangerous free kick with the Ukrainian booked for his troubles. He could have been put under a lot more pressure by the Red Devils.

Amad’s positive impact

Amorim has been impressed with the 22-year-old’s impact and is already thinking of shifting him into a more attacking role once INEOS sign a new left wingback for him.

The versatile attacker has notched three goals and five assists this season and has played in all four games under the new head coach.

So impressed has the Portuguese tactician been that he has instructed the club to agree a new deal with the former Atalanta starlet.

His current deal is valid until next summer with the club having the option of triggering a one-year extension. But Football Insider have now claimed that a breakthrough in contract talks is imminent.

The 20-time English league champions are confident that they can agree and announce a new deal for the talented Ivory Coast international within December.

Close to contract agreement

“Man United to soon announce Amad Diallo deal” reads the report while further adding, “Man United winger Amad Diallo is in advanced talks to agree a new long-term contract at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

“The 22-year-old is expected to reach a full agreement on a long-term deal before the end of December.”

Amad was brutally overlooked by former manager Erik ten Hag, something that did not please the United dressing room and it was one of the reasons why this new contract agreement has taken time.

Hopefully, the club can agree the new contract extension soon with the player who had declared in the summer that he wanted to spend his whole career at Old Trafford.
