Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes “thrilled” with Ruben Amorim’s potential arrival – Man United News And Transfer News

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly pleased with Manchester United’s decision to move for Ruben Amorim after sacking Erik ten Hag.

United only decided to part ways with Ten Hag on Monday, a day after his side fell to 14th place in the Premier League table following a 2-1 defeat at West Ham United.

Still, multiple reports suggest they have covered a lot of ground in their efforts to bring in a new permanent manager at the helm.

Amorim appears to be United’s preferred candidate and it is understood the Sporting CP head coach has “verbally agreed” to become their next gaffer.

United are now in talks with the Primeira Liga outfit to secure the services of their manager mid-season.

All things point to Amorim leading the Red Devils sooner rather than later, and the United skipper is “delighted” with the development, claims CaughtOffside.

The 30-year-old is believed to be a “huge admirer of his fellow countryman, who has done impressive work at Sporting Lisbon and who was also firmly on the radar of Manchester City.”

Fernandes was one of Ten Hag’s most trusted players, but the Dutch coach’s setup did not make the most of his creative and goalscoring instincts.

Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Sporting attacking midfielder often spent most of his time in and around the penalty area, but Ten Hag deployed his captain in deeper areas to aid his side’s build-up play.

The decision has had an impact on Fernandes’ goal involvement for United. This season he is yet to score and has managed only five assists across all competitions. However, the Portugal international has been at his prolific best for this country in the Nations League, underlining he has still got it.

Accordingly, it is not too surprising to “hear that he’s thrilled to see Amorim coming in” as the change of leadership may help him get on the scoresheet more frequently for the Mancunian giants once again.

Regardless of his underwhelming form under Ten Hag, Fernandes took to Instagram to thank his former boss.
