“No doubts about his qualities”: Ex-England boss Fabio Capello backs Mason Greenwood to excel at Juventus – Man United News And Transfer News

Former England manager Fabio  Capello has said that Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood has everything it takes to succeed at Juventus if he were to join the club in the summer.

Greenwood has caught the eye at Getafe with his impressive performances, which have sparked interest in his services from clubs like Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus.

The Englishman has so far managed eight goals and five assists in Spain. It’s unsurprising that Getafe are also desperate to keep him and extend his stay at the Coliseum.

Fabrizio Romano initially suggested that there was nothing in the rumours suggesting Juventus admire Greenwood and are keen to add him to their ranks.

However, it was subsequently relayed that the Serie A giants are indeed weighing a swoop for the 22-year-old and are even contemplating offloading some of their first-team players to ensure a deal gets over the line.

Amidst all this, Capello, who spent time both as a manager and player of Juventus spoke to Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport and backed the “reborn” Greenwood to make an impact in Turin if he gets the opportunity.

Capello said about the Carrington academy graduate, “I’ve heard about Greenwood. A Manchester United talent who has been affected by personal issues, but seems reborn at Getafe.”

“There are no doubts about his qualities. [Riccardo] Calafiori looks interesting as well, but I am accustomed to seeing a Juventus that keeps their best players.”

He added, ” I would not sell Bremer, [Federico] Chiesa or [Dusan] Vlahovic. I would only add quality players. I really like Bologna’s [Lewis] Ferguson and his injury was a shame.”

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that despite there being a small chance that Greenwood could line up for United again in future, INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are still proceeding under the assumption that he will be sold.

Should United manage to get a decent fee for the player, it could go a long way in helping to improve the club’s financial shape and relieving some of the pressure currently being brought about by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

His sale would represent a pure profit on the Red Devils’ books.
