Owen Hargreaves tips Marcus Rashford to be a huge success under Ruben Amorim – Man United News And Transfer News

Marcus Rashford seemed to have lost his way at Manchester United last season with rumours of a potential exit dominating the rumour mill this past summer.

After scoring 30 goals in Erik ten Hag’s first season, which earned him a lucrative new deal, the Mancunian managed a meagre eight last term with his off-field antics creating more headlines.

There were rumours of a rift between the manager and the player and while he has shown signs of improvement this season, his manager could not do the same and lost his job after the team’s defeat to West Ham.

There have been doubts as to whether the England international can recapture his old form under Ruben Amorim, who is expected to demand a lot more from this squad.

Rashford can excel under Amorim

The Englishman is keen to play under the Portuguese and former club midfielder Owen Hargreaves feels the boyhood United fan can excel under the new head coach.

His exciting 3-4-3 system promises attacking football, something the Champions League winner feels will suit Rashford, who had stagnated in Ten Hag’s rigid system.

An exciting young coach can often get the best out of the England international as seen during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first season and Ten Hag’s own debut campaign.

And a change in coaching could be just the antidote needed to kickstart the 27-year-old’s career. Hargreaves also pointed to Alejandro Garnacho as someone who would love to play under Amorim.

Exciting system

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Hargreaves said, “I think he has some, I think Rashford will love this system in the way that they will play, and I think Garnacho is going to be brilliant as well.

“I think if you’re a great coach you can look at that group and say I can make these guys better and I can help them win. I truly believe that a young manager like this can get more out of this group than Erik ten Hag has got, I’m almost certain of it.”

United certainly have exciting players in the squad and it will all be about Amorim’s ability to get this inconsistent team to play at their best level on a regular basis.

As for Rashford, it is upto the player to win back the fans and save his United career. Whether he can excel under the Sporting Lisbon boss remains to be seen.
