Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Man United job is safe regardless of what happens with Erik ten Hag – Man United News And Transfer News

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s job at Manchester United is reportedly safe, even if under-fire manager Erik ten Hag is sacked.

Van Nistelrooy returned to United in the summer, this time in the capacity of an assistant coach. It’s believed that he rejected managerial offers in favour of sealing a sensational comeback to Old Trafford, where he enjoyed so much success as a player.

United’s forwards have spoken highly of Van Nistelrooy’s impact on the training ground and the former striker is a very popular figure within the ranks.

As pressure mounts on Ten Hag following an extremely underwhelming start to the season, Van Nistelrooy has been mentioned as a potential temporary replacement.

Amidst all this, GIVEMESPORT reports that there is a very strong chance that Van Nistelrooy will remain at United even if Ten Hag is fired.

The news outlet reveals, “Ruud van Nistelrooy’s job on the Manchester United staff is considered to be safe, regardless of what happens with Erik Ten Hag’s future, GIVEMESPORT sources have been informed.”

“There is an acceptance within the club that if Ten Hag did lose the trust of the board then Van Nisteleooy could step up into the number one role temporarily on an interim basis, and while that isn’t the plan that is a possibility.”

“It’s also believed though that Van Nistelrooy’s job within the club structure would be safe even if there was a change of manager, with a feeling within the club that he would be open to staying.”

A recent report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils have been holding secret talks with managers amidst a possible change of guard in the Old Trafford dugout.

Some of the tacticians United have on the radar include Xavi, Edin Terzic, Ruben Amorim and Thomas Frank.

GMS explain that even as United sound out these managers, the members of the hierarchy retain faith in Ten Hag. Another reason behind the club’s reluctance to part ways with Ten Hag is that Sir Jim Ratcliffe has no desire to fork out a £15million payout to the former Ajax boss.

United return to action on Sunday when they take on West Ham at the London Stadium.
