Video: Angry Erik ten Hag storms out of press conference after stinging question – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag stormed out of his press conference after the club’s frustrating draw against Bournemouth.

United were held to a stalemate and had to settle for a share of the points.

The Red Devils’ goals were both scored by captain Bruno Fernandes in either half of proceedings. It could have been even worse for Ten Hag and his players, who were once again very poor and failed to put up a convincing performance.

In the opening 45 minutes especially, the Cherries fashioned multiple clear-cut opportunities and were let down by some poor finishing on their part.

The result has left United in seventh place in the Premier League standings, level on points with sixth-placed Newcastle who registered an incredible 4-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur earlier on Saturday.

As it stands, Champions League qualification is almost certainly out of the picture for United who have won just one of their last seven top-flight clashes. On current trajectory, the 20-time English champions are also facing a battle to finish within the Europa League places. If not careful, United could find themselves in the conference league next term or even completely out of Europe.

There is also a real danger that United could finish below seventh place, with the likes of West Ham, Chelsea and Brighton closing in fast. Such a scenario would represent the club’s worst-ever finish in their Premier League history.

During Ten Hag’s presser after the draw against Bournemouth, the Dutchman was asked about this and he didn’t seem enthused by the question at all.

The 54-year-old rose up and stormed out of his press conference in response to the journalist’s stinging query.

While walking away, Ten Hag muttered, “I don’t comment. I don’t take that question.”

He added, “It’s not important for this moment.”

Up next for United is a trip to Wembley to face Coventry City in the semi-final of the FA Cup. The domestic competition represents the Reds’ last chance of lifting silverware at the end of the campaign and restoring some pride and prestige that has already been lost.
