In the first T20I match between West Indies and Bangladesh at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St. Vincent, on Sunday, Akeal Hosein showcased his exceptional bowling skills. Akeal Hosein shines with a stunning dismissal of Tanzid Hasan

Hosein’s delivery, a deceptive arm ball, caught Tanzid off guard as the batter misjudged the trajectory. Attempting a pull shot, Tanzid played back to what he thought was a turning delivery, only for the ball to remain straight and crash into the off-stump. Tanzid was sent back to the pavilion after scoring just 6 runs off 11 balls, including one boundary. The dismissal was a masterstroke of spin bowling that highlighted Hosein’s skill and game awareness.

Here is the video:

Hosein’s magic didn’t end with Tanzid. On the very next delivery, he dismissed Bangladesh captain Litton Das, putting the visitors in a precarious position. Litton, visibly surprised by Hosein’s subtle variation, chipped a simple catch back to the bowler while attempting a cautious push. The delivery, a full and straight-arm ball, swung in slightly and forced an error in judgment.

Litton’s dismissal for a golden duck underscored Hosein’s ability to exploit even the slightest lapses in concentration. By the end of his four-over spell, Hosein had remarkable figures of 2/13, a performance that cemented his role as a key player in the West Indies bowling attack.

West Indies falls short despite Rovman Powell’s heroics

Chasing 148 for victory, the West Indies struggled to build partnerships, skipper Rovman Powell stood tall amid the collapse, scoring a valiant 60 runs, but a disciplined bowling performance by Bangladesh ensured that the hosts fell short by 7 runs.
