Cricket West Indies (CWI) has unveiled the schedule for the Bangladesh Women’s team’s upcoming tour of the West Indies, marking a significant event in the cricket calendar for women’s cricket. The tour, set in the picturesque island of St. Kitts, will feature a series of white-ball matches aimed at bolstering both teams’ preparations for future international commitments.

The tour includes six matches, with three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and as manyT20 Internationals (T20Is), all to be hosted at the iconic Warner Park in Basseterre, St. Kitts. The ODIs are part of the ICC Women’s Championship, making them crucial for both teams in their quest to qualify for the upcoming Women’s Cricket World Cup.
Significance for qualification
For West Indies, the WODI series holds particular importance as they look to accumulate points in the ICC Women’s Championship. A strong performance here could secure automatic qualification for the World Cup, although there’s still an opportunity through a qualifying tournament for teams not directly qualifying.
“This series against Bangladesh is crucial for us as we continue our campaign in the 2025 ICC 50-over Women’s Championship. Preparation and expectations
Both teams will have access to dedicated practice sessions, scheduled in the mornings, afternoons, and some evenings, to ensure they are well-prepared for the matches. These sessions are crucial for players to adapt to the conditions and for coaches to fine-tune strategies.
The Bangladesh team will arrive in St. Kitts on January 14, providing them with ample time to acclimate to the local conditions before the series kicks off.
